Practical Tips To Improving Your Hub Score

Have you ever heard of Hubpages? You know I probably should have, but I had not heard of them until I happened to open up an email that looked intriguing and read about HubPages.

All hubbers and a whole range of interesting things. So if you have heard of this phenomenon then you"re one step ahead of me on this one. If you haven"t let me explain what the rage is all about.

HubPages is an Internet community (Web 2.0) where users can publish content and gain information about specific subjects. It was first rolled out in 2006 and has been gaining popularity at quite a rapid rate. As a matter of fact, HubPages has a Google Page Ranking of 6 and Google loves HubPages it is looked at as authoritative.

HubPages has more than 56,000 links coming in from yahoo and the Alexa Ranking is 220!

What does this mean to you?

When you become part of the community on HubPages you will be able to increase the SEO standing on your websites and blogs by strategically placing back links to your online businesses. You can also pump up your affiliate marketing revenues and make extra money with Adsense!

I thought I would share all of the hubpages I have written in one spot so that everyone could learn just a little bit about hubpages.com. I use hubpages.com as platforms to let people who may not ever find one of my blogs know that I am out there in cyberspace carving my little niche.

Hub pages are a lot of fun to build and the part I like best is seeing exactly how many people visit my hubs each day. People also have a chance to vote on the hubs they like and don"t like so I can see where each one of my hubs stands.

This is a critical step and not only do search engines love freshly updated content also does Hubpages! (this is also important on Squidoo).

You can generate traffic and backlinks to your hubpage by PROMOTING it. Link to it from other blogs, forums, directories, etc…as you would with a traditional website. Promoting your hubpage can also be cheaply outsourced if you prefer.

Get your friends and/or outsource employees to assist you in "thumbs upping" your hub. But really if you focus on putting out great quality content this should come naturally. You can give it a hand initially though.

Increase your status as a hubber by creating a dozen or more hubs. Don"t go overboard as you will be looked at as a spammer if your hub creation goes too high in one account. 20-50 would be plenty. Hubpages even calls this out in their FAQ!

Hmm, no one said you can"t create another main Hubpages account and start again!

Hubpages has built-in traffic (its own user base) and can also help provide search engine traction.

You can also use Hubpages to build backlinks to your main money making website or network of sites.
Build yourself up as the "expert" or "authority" in your field from Web 2.0 properties just like Hubpages (much like article marketing).

In summary, authority sites with Web 2.0 user-generated content, such as Hubpages, are getting noticed by the search engines including Google!
