Article marketing has always been a brilliant yet subtle way to advertise your business. The best thing about article marketing is that your potential customers are sort of brought in the back door. Article promotion has been around as long as mass media has exited. It''s when a business person offers to write an article for a publication giving information about a product or service without mentioning any specific company for free. The way article marketing works in cyber space is that an author will write an informative article just like traditional article promotion except it is in an online publication like a blog, online newsletter or e-zine. Again, the author does it for free but with the proviso that there is a link to the author''s website. If people like the article they will most likely click on the link and be transported to the author''s site and hopefully buy something. You can increase your web traffic exponentially by using this ingenious marketing technique.

There are some things to keep in mind when embarking on an article marketing strategy. First, make sure the publication you offer to write for has a decent amount of hits per page and per day. Don"t waste your time on a website that isn"t well visited. Second, make sure the information you provide is useful, informative and interesting and lose the flash for article marketing. People will be turned off if it''s too salesman like. Third, make sure your site is easy to navigate and on par quality wise with the site you wrote for.
